For now, here are a few of our favorites, just to whet your appetite: | | 2010 Lopez de Heredia Viña Cubillo Rioja ($31.99 before discount) | From the legendary Spanish winery, this classic Rioja blend of Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha and 10% Mazuelo and Graciano can age for 20 years if you can stay away from it. And if you can't, that's OK too: Red cherries, blood oranges, nutmeg — all soft and harmonious with great balance. Light up the grill! | | | 2018 Turley 'Buck' Cobb Zinfandel ($54.99 before discount) | California’s premier Zin producer creates wines most other Zinfandels dream of becoming. Critic Josh Raynolds calls it “bold and savory, with plenty of cedar, licorice, dried herbs, mint and pine character. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2018 pulses with real energy.” Yeah man, what he said. | | | 2019 Mas des Volques Urnia Rosé ($14.99 before discount) | This highly quaffable Rhône blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre offers up a rounded, textured, medium-bodied rosé with irresistible hints of raspberries, candied cherries, and flowers. A great value even before the discount. | | | 2017 McPherson EVS Windblown ($17.99 before discount) | This may come from the Texas High Plains but it's inspired by traditional Côtes du Rhône! EVS is made of 24% Mourvedre, 22% Petite Sirah, 23% Carignan, 21% Cinsault, and 10% Grenache. It shows shows dark berries backed up by silky tannins and just enough oak to help it stand up to a taco. | | | 2016 Terroir al Limit Historic Tinto ($29.99 before discount) | Bright, fruity, light, juicy: This a red that’s easy to drink, made from a traditional blend of grapes from nine different villages in Priorat, Spain. The guys behind Terroir al Limit are on the cutting edge of Spanish winemaking and this is a good way to discover what they're about. | | | Loimer Brut Rosé ($29.99 before discount) | Pure, fresh, and intensely pink bubbles from Fred Loimer, one of Austria’s premier winemakers. This extremely rare bottle of bubbly would cost $100+ if it said Champagne on the label, but since it's from Langenlois (about an hour outside of Vienna), it delivers more zing for the buck.
